BETA Theory and Practice Guidebook
The BETA Theory and Practice Guidebook is part of the Bridges of Intergenerational Approach project, which has the acronym BETA, funded by the Greek National Agency of Erasmus+, action KA210 in Adult Education, 2022-2024. BETA addresses the challenges of social isolation and digital exclusion faced by older adults, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the rapid shift towards a digital society. The project simultaneously fosters intergenerational connections and promotes digital literacy to empower seniors and strengthen community bonds.
The primary aim of this Guidebook is to document and promote valuable knowledge on fostering the intergenerational approach within non-formal educational contexts. It is designed for adult educators, social workers, healthcare professionals specializing in active aging, teachers, and pedagogical experts. Given its focus on non-formal education, the Guidebook also targets regional authorities-such as municipalities overseeing institutions for elderly care, senior living facilities, and children’s creative activity centers- as well as central policymakers shaping relevant strategies. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive methodology, resources, and practical tools for any organization committed to an inclusive society by bridging generational divides and enhancing the quality of life for older adults.
