BETA Educational Material
Developed in alignment with the BETA Methodology, the educational material is tailored to support Intergenerational Laboratories consisting of groups of seniors and children aged 7–12, guided by at least two facilitators. Ideally, the facilitators are an adult educator and pedagogist, ensuring both pedagogical and experiential expertise. The material is organized into two volumes: Toolkit 1 and Toolkit 2.
Toolkit 1 focuses on building trust, rapport, and joy between the two generations while introducing elderly participants to digital communication. The activities are designed to create a safe and engaging environment that encourages interaction and strengthens bonds between participants.
Toolkit 2 emphasizes training the elderly in using digital tools and applications, with children—digital natives of our era—acting as mentors and collaborators.
Through these toolkits, a reciprocal learning process emerges. Children benefit from the wisdom, life experience, and perspective of the elderly, while the elderly gain valuable digital skills and confidence through the support and collaboration of the younger generation. This intergenerational exchange promotes a dynamic and mutually enriching learning experience.
Toolkits 1 and 2 are available in four languages: English, Dutch, Greek, Italian.
Feel free to try the BETA Toolkits in your intergenerational activities!
